LAR ESPAÑA is a company listed on the Spanish Stock Exchanges, since 5 March 2014 constituted as a SOCIMI, "Sociedad Anónima Cotizada de Inversión en el Mercado Inmobiliario", which makes it a pioneer in this regime, equivalent to the so-called Real Estate Investment Trust in most countries. The company, which aims to invest in the Spanish real estate sector, specifically in the retail segment, is the listed leader in this Spanish market, with more than 550,000 square metres for rent and 1,425 million euros in asset value as of December 2021.
In 2015 LAR ESPAÑA was included in the FTSA EPRA/NAREIT Global index, a selective global index designed to represent general trends of listed real estate companies worldwide. It was also included in the Ibex Top Dividend index in 2018. In September 2021, for the seventh consecutive year, Lar España received the EPRA Gold Award for the quality of the financial information made available to its main stakeholders. As regards the information published on ESG, Lar España has obtained the highest distinction from EPRA, achieving the Gold Award for the fourth consecutive year.
LAR ESPAÑA seeks to maximise its potential through the possibilities offered by its valuation levels and the opportunities to create long-term value by actively managing its shopping centres and retail parks. In this regard, and by unanimous decision of its Board of Directors, in 2021 the socimi signed an agreement with Grupo Lar to extend the exclusive management contract for its shopping centres, known in the sector as the Investment Management Agreement, or IMA, for a further five years, until 31 December 2026. Grupo Lar has extensive experience in the real estate market and a long track record of nearly 50 years generating value through the different sector cycles in a wide range of countries.
