BME collaborates in the 2nd edition of the Educational Contest: “Las empresas se reinventan”.

The contest is aimed at students and teachers of secondary school, high school and vocational training in educational centers in the Community of Madrid and seeks to disseminate economic-financial education among young people, providing practical and topical content related to entrepreneurship, financial markets, listed companies and sustainability. The initiative is the result of the framework agreement signed between the Community of Madrid (Vice-Presidency, Department of Education and Universities) and the Mª Jesús Soto Foundation, in which BME has collaborated in both editions.

The aim of the contest is to get to know in depth the listed company of the Spanish continuous market that each group of students chooses and to express the knowledge they have documented and investigated in a team work, in which emphasis must be placed on transmitting how the company proposes its future in a changing world in which sustainability and ESG criteria come into play to obtain financing and, in short, to know how it will continue to be profitable, helping to improve the planet. 

The price was awarded to the team IES VEGA DEL JARAMA from San Fernando de Henares (Madrid) with the teacher Ms. Cristina Hernando Sotillo, on their work on the company NATURGY.

In the opinion of the jury formed by representatives of BME (Enrique Castellanos, Director of Instituto BME and Domingo García Coto, Director of Research) and of the María Jesús Soto Foundation, the work was very well adjusted to the rules, used the video format and counted with the pleasant and dynamic participation of all the members of the team. The visual presentation, the teacher's written work and the achievements obtained by viewing and answering questions on the training videos prepared by the BME Institute were also highlighted.
