BME connects 66 Spanish listed companies with 250 international investors in October

BME continues with its annual calendar of corporate access activities, with a clear commitment to boosting the visibility of listed companies, especially small and medium-sized ones. The company organises and facilitates meetings that enable Spanish listed companies to meet with international institutional investors. Two important events took place in October. One virtual and the other face-to-face, which enabled 66 Spanish companies to establish contact with close to 250 investors through more than 850 meetings.

The Iberian Digital Forum, organised in collaboration with BBVA and ODDO, was held virtually and was attended by 56 Spanish companies and 196 registered investors, with a total of 799 meetings held. This virtual format enabled broad participation and facilitated the connection between listed companies and investors from 15 other countries, including France, Great Britain, the United States, Germany, Switzerland and Canada. This is the third edition of this forum, which managed to surpass the figures of previous years: 16% more investors and 18% more meetings held.

The second event, held in Paris, had a face-to-face format and was highly valued by the participants in terms of maintaining a closer and more relaxed relationship. At this event, a dozen Spanish companies, both from the stock exchange and BME Growth, had the opportunity to meet with 39 investors from different European countries, achieving a significant number of 60 meetings. The aim of this event was to encourage direct and continuous contact between companies and investors. The participating companies wereCAF, Dominion Global, Ebro Foods, Gigas Hosting, Greening, Grenergy, Logista, Prosegur, Sacyr and Técnicas Reunidas.

For Spanish companies, this type of initiative is particularly interesting as international investors own 49% of the market value of companies listed on the Spanish stock exchange (*).

BME's Corporate Access team is already working on the organisation of the next forum outside Spain. It will take place in December in Geneva, in person, and will be aimed at Swiss investors. A dozen Spanish companies are expected to attend this event so that they can present their projects and establish valuable contacts with international investors.

These initiatives make it easier for companies and investors to achieve their goals in the Spanish market. Investors have up-to-date and detailed information on the situation of listed companies and can make investment decisions more efficiently. For their part, companies take advantage of these contacts to increase their visibility, compare their business plans and, therefore, increase their financing capacity, liquidity and prestige.

This is the experience of three of the listed companies present at the event:

Alberto Gárgoles, Head of Investor Relations at Sacyr
‘We value very positively the effort made by BME to help Spanish companies in their visibility in the market. This type of forum helps us to build relationships with new and/or existing investors in the company. The organisation is perfect, being able to have 6 or 7 meetings with different types of investors during one day. In addition, the versatility between one&one and one to few meetings makes it even more interesting. We encourage you to continue with this great initiative’.

Manuel de Luna, Investor Relations and Financial Institutions Manager at Ebro Foods
‘Participating in the forum organised by BME in Paris is essential for us. It gives us visibility and the opportunity to present our strategy to French institutional investors. Once again, the event was very well organised, allowing us to attract the attention of many valuable potential investors.

Ainara Areizaga, CAF's Investor Relations Director
Our attendance at the conference has given us access to a new investor base in France, where we already have a significant shareholding presence. Most of the meetings were Discovery, which gives us the opportunity to generate new interest and demand. I found the brochure with the description and details of each investor interesting and useful.
