The responsibility of companies with society begins with the promotion of good employment practices and equality and diversity among their employees. BME guarantees a discrimination-free working environment, built on respect and equal opportunities among all employees in their personal and professional development, regardless of gender, race, religion, age, nationality, state of health, sexual identity or orientation.
In 2019, BME created the Equality Plan Negotiating Commission. The company also has a Joint Equality Commission, which is dedicated to analysing and, where appropriate, implementing the resulting equality measures.
BME employees have an "Internal Action Protocol in cases of alleged workplace and sexual harassment" at their disposal on the corporate intranet.
BME also promotes the talent and professional development of its employees. This commitment is organised, among other measures, within the Training Plan for its professionals. During 2022 BME has offered its employees the opportunity to acquire technical knowledge in ESG, finance and technology, as well as in the development of personal skills such as team management, communication or leadership. In addition, BME offers a complete catalog of language courses including German, English and French, which, since the integration into SIX, is even more relevant to create a diverse and international work environment. The number of training hours was 28 per employee.
