Adolfo Domínguez is a firm with a great tradition whose beginnings date back to 1973. Everything started in a small tailoring workshop where gradually the brand started building up its image and personality. So it was in the 1980s when the slogan “Wrinkles are Beautiful” was born, the firm’s mark of identity and one of the most famous sayings to come out of the Spanish fashion world.
Halfway through the 80s the producers of Miami Vice showed an interest in Adolfo Domínguez designs. The stars of this series were dressed by Adolfo Domínguez, breaking with the sartorial stereotypes that detectives in television series had followed up to then: going from the raincoat and hat to the linen suit and T-shirt.
The 90s were marked by diversification and internationalisation. In this period the network grew through its own shops and franchises. At this point, at the end of the 90s, Adolfo Domínguez became the first Spanish designer to market a complete range of fragrances under his name. At the same time, in 1997, the firm was listed on the stock exchange, becoming the first Spanish brand with a stock market presence.
