Red Eléctrica is Redeia's flagship company. It was born in 1985 as the first company in the world exclusively involved in electricity system operation and transmission. Since then, it has guaranteed a safe and high quality electricity supply to homes, businesses and public services in Spain. Today, it is the backbone of the green transition in Spain and a key player in driving a sustainable energy model. It manages, maintains and operates around 45,000 km of transmission lines and more than 600 substations.
Reintel, established in 1997, is the largest dark fibre optic operator in Spain. It manages more than 52,000 km of cables, making both the dark fibre optic network and the sites and technical spaces for housing telecommunications equipment available to the sector's agents on a neutral basis.
Founded in 1989, Hispasat is the Spanish operator and provider of satellite solutions and services. It is a benchmark company in reducing the digital divide and universalising digital rights in the Americas, Europe and North Africa, and a leader in the distribution of content in Spanish and Portuguese.
Since 2000 Redinter has been involved in the development of electricity transmission in Latin America. It currently operates in Brazil, Chile and Peru. It is also a key player in promoting a sustainable energy model in the region.
Technological innovation is a cross-cutting value within Redeia and is channelled through Elewit, created in 2019 to develop and promote innovative technological solutions that respond to new challenges in the electricity and telecommunications sectors.
